Creating the Best Model |
||
Modeling is connected with the creation of various patterns of items and preparation of drawings according to them. The modeling process may be creative and technical. The technical modeling is the creation of new models, which reflects the new tendency in fashion. A designer has to know what dress is on the way of demand actually. The technical modeling is the development of construction according to the ready pattern or sketch taken from Vogue or any other magazines. In order to learn the way of using the main drawing for the construction of more complicated models a designer has to know the rule of changing the drawing first of all. There are a few lines in any clothing: silhouette, constructive and decorative. The silhouette lines define the proportions, express the fashion tendency, but they are lacking of the clothes’ form. The constructive lines create the clothes’ form; they connect the details of item (shoulder and side seams, tack in seams and the like). Some of them may be decorative at the same time, for example, the side seam with a fold, a decorative stitch and the like). The decorative lines are used for the development of style. They may be vertical, horizontal and oblique. These lines provide the item with composition. For instance, vertical lines underline slimness, severity in a dress, oval lines – softness, flow of an item, oblique lines – dynamics, movements; horizontal lines are static, visually increase the width of a dress. They are perfect for a person who has narrow shoulders and chest and broad hips. |
